Spree Shivai Hotel Pune: Your Luxurious Pimpri Escape Awaits!
Okay, buckle up buttercups, because we're diving headfirst into the swirling, sometimes-confusing, but hopefully delightful world of the Spree Shivai Hotel in Pimpri, Pune. This isn't your sterile, robotic review. This is the real deal, warts and all, with a generous helping of my own personal (and hopefully, hilarious) opinions. Let's go!
Spree Shivai Hotel Pune: Your Luxurious Pimpri Escape Awaits! - A Real Review (Finally!)
"Luxurious Pimpri Escape?" They're promising a lot, aren't they? Pimpri isn't exactly known for its glamour, but hey, a girl can dream, right? Let's see if Spree Shivai delivers on the dream… or just delivers room service (which, spoiler alert, they do!).
First Impressions & Getting There - The Accessibility Angle & (My) Fumbling Arrival
Okay, first off, accessibility. Crucial. I’m not in a wheelchair, but I am obsessed with hotels being genuinely welcoming. They've got elevators (phew!), which is essential. They also mention facilities for disabled guests. That's a start. (Side note: Hotels, make it easy to find out exactly what “facilities” means. Detailed information is King!)
Getting to the hotel… well, that's where my charmingly chaotic self comes in. They offer airport transfer. Brilliant! And car park [free of charge] – even better! I opted for the taxi, and navigating Pune traffic is always an adventure. Let's just say I arrived a little frazzled, needing a cocktail and a strong dose of serenity. But hey, the hotel was there, waiting.
Check-in: Smooth as Butter (Mostly)
They offer contactless check-in/out! Honestly, I love hotels that acknowledge the 21st century. And praise be, they have a 24-hour front desk. Because, as you know, my arrival was anything but a standard 9-to-5! I'm happy to report that the chap at the front desk was professional, friendly, and didn't seem to judge my slightly disheveled appearance. Score!
The Room: Comfort (And One Tiny Complaint)
My room? Clean, spacious, and… air-conditioned! Thank the heavens! They have air conditioning in all rooms and in public area, which is an absolute must in Pune’s climate. And a desk, a laptop workspace, and Internet access – wireless (Wi-Fi [free]) A MUST! Plus, they have bathrobes, that's a nice treat, the slippers are so comforting, complimentary tea, and a mini bar… My room was a sanctuary, a much-needed escape from the chaos. I had my free bottled water, hair dryer… and everything, basically.
Now, for my minor quibble: the soundproofing. It wasn't terrible, but I could occasionally hear some outside noise, which meant getting used to the cacophany of the city. This is the reason I can't give that full score to my rating. But hey, it's a city hotel, not a silent mountain retreat, so I'll let it slide.
Dining & Sipping: A Foodie's Journey… With a Twist
Okay, food! This is where hotels really get to shine (or, sadly, fall flat). Spree Shivai seems to try, and mostly succeeds.
- Breakfast: Breakfast [buffet] and Asian breakfast, Western breakfast. I'm not a buffet person, I love to have some Breakfast in room, The coffee shop was great. The coffee/tea in restaurant was a total win. The buffet offerings were decent, but the made-to-order omelets were the real hero. Fresh, fluffy, and cooked exactly how I liked them. A small, happy tear nearly escaped.
- Restaurants: Restaurants with Asian cuisine in restaurant and International cuisine in restaurant, it's a win. The A la carte in restaurant was pretty good, with tasty curries and international options. One night, I room service [24-hour], which I love!
- Drinks: The bar was a chilled-out spot. Poolside bar, which is a great way to wind up the day. Happy hour meant delicious cocktails.
- My Quirky Food Story: Right, here's where it gets interesting. They have vegetarian restaurant. I am not a vegetarian but I love Indian vegetarian food. One evening, desperate for something light, I ventured into the Snack bar. I got the the salad in restaurant, but it was pretty bland. After a few minutes, an exceedingly polite waiter noticed my disappointment and offered to make me a special salad that had more flavour; bless him! That little bit of extra effort made a huge difference.
- They offer Breakfast takeaway service.
Things to Do & Ways to Relax: Paradise Found?
Let’s be honest, you want RELAXATION. Spree Shivai is pretty good on that score, really.
- Pool: Swimming pool and Swimming pool [outdoor] with a view isn't the biggest, but perfectly fine for a leisurely dip. There are even foot bath! It's a good place to chill.
- The Spa: Spa, Spa/sauna, Steamroom, etc. They did a Body scrub and a Body wrap.
- Fitness Center: Fitness center and Gym/fitness for those who like to sweat it out. I did use the Sauna.
- Massages: Massage, I had a massage, and it was divine. The masseuse was skilled, the room clean, and the whole experience super relaxing.
Cleanliness & Safety: The (Very Important) Details
In these crazy times, I’m obsessed with cleanliness. Spree Shivai seems to take it seriously, and that makes me happy.
- Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, Rooms sanitized between stays, a Safe dining setup, and Sanitized kitchen and tableware items. Professional-grade sanitizing services… The staff is trained in safety protocol … the list is long, and gives me peace of mind.
- Then there's Hand sanitizer everywhere, as well as First aid kit, Doctor/nurse on call, for safety reasons.
- They've got an Emergency lighting.
Services & Conveniences: The Little Things That Matter
- Laundry service, Dry cleaning, Ironing service… all essential for a somewhat messy traveler like myself.
- Concierge. They have a Concierge helpful and friendly.
- Cash withdrawal, and Currency exchange.
- Elevator.
- Luggage storage.
For the Kids (and Those Who Act Like Them!)
They have Babysitting service, Family/child friendly, and Kids facilities, with Kids meal.
Internet – The Modern Necessity
- Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! They've got my vote right there. Internet and Internet access – LAN, too.
Overall – Is It Worth It?
Honestly? Yup. Spree Shivai delivers on its promise. It's not perfect – nothing ever is! – but it's a solid, comfortable, and well-equipped hotel. Khaoyai Pool Paradise: Your 3-Bedroom, 1st Floor Dream Home Awaits!
Alright, buckle up, buttercups, because this isn't your grandma's meticulously planned travel itinerary. This is my chaotic, beautiful, and probably slightly embarrassing experience at the Spree Shivai Hotel in Pimpri, Pune. Let's call it… "Pune-tastic Pandemonium."
Day 1: Arrival & the Great Auto-Rickshaw Debacle
1:00 PM - Arrival at Pune Airport (PNQ): Okay, first hurdle. Getting OUT of the airport. Seriously, why are airport arrivals always such a scrum? Somehow, I managed to avoid getting trampled by a horde of aggressively optimistic uncles hawking taxi deals. Found the pre-paid auto-rickshaw stand – victory! Or so I thought. This driver, bless his cotton socks, clearly had a different understanding of "shortest route." We wove through what felt like the entire city, past a million chai stalls, schools bursting with kids, and a stray dog with a serious attitude. Finally, after what felt like an eternity (though probably only 45 minutes), we arrived. I swear, I developed a new appreciation for potholes during that ride.
2:00 PM - Check-in at Spree Shivai: Smooth enough. The lobby is…clean. Refreshing. The staff looked friendly enough to take some of my anxieties. I'd booked a standard room. It was a standard room. Not much to write home about, but it had a bed, a functioning AC (thank the heavens), and a view that, unfortunately, mostly consisted of the building opposite. Still, the prospect of a shower after that auto-rickshaw journey was enough to send me into a blissful haze.
3:00 PM - Post-Travel Shower & Existential Crisis: Okay, the shower. This is important. The water pressure was…okay. The hot water, however, was temperamental. And by temperamental, I mean it went from blistering hot to freezing cold in the blink of an eye. I swear, I did a little dance of shock and delight with every temperature change. Was it a metaphor for life? Probably. Was it slightly traumatizing? Also yes.
4:00 PM - Exploring the Hotel's Immediate Surroundings: The hotel's in a… busy area. Pimpri-Chinchwad is no joke. First impressions? The street vendors are persistent, the traffic is a chaotic beautiful dance, and the air is thick with the scent of spices and something vaguely sweet. I tried to find a decent chai, failed. Found a shop selling, well, I have no idea what it was, but it smelled amazing. I was already overwhelmed, so I abandoned the search.
7:00 PM - Dinner at the Hotel Restaurant (Or, The Quest for Edible Food): Oh boy. This is where things get interesting. The hotel's restaurant, "Flavors," promised… well, flavors. I ordered a butter chicken, because, tourist. What arrived was… butter chicken-esque. It wasn't bad, exactly, but it was missing something. Soul? Flavour? Spice? Hard to tell, really. The naan was excellent though. I devoured it, because carbs, in this life, are truth. I sat next to a large, boisterous family, that added another layer to my experience, which was just amazing.
Day 2: History, Haveli & The Case of the Missing Socks
9:00 AM - Breakfast at Flavors (Take 2) & The Breakfast Gamble: Breakfast buffet. The usual suspects: idli, vada, some kind of spiced potatoes of great quality, and mysterious fruit salad. Decided to be adventurous and try a dosa. It was… alright. I ate a questionable amount of fruit salad. The coffee was weak, but the staff's smiles were strong enough to compensate. The breakfast was better than last night's dinner, but still… it wasn't quite the culinary experience I was hoping for.
10:00 AM - Auto-Rickshaw Adventure: The Aga Khan Palace: I decided to be brave and get back on the auto-rickshaw. This time, I specifically asked for the "easiest route" to the Aga Khan Palace. It was a moving tapestry of life. The smells, the noise, the sheer energy… it was exhilarating and utterly exhausting. When I found the park, I have to say it felt completely different from the surrounding environment.
11:30 AM - Aga Khan Palace (History, So Much History): The Aga Khan Palace. Wow. It's beautiful, it's serene, and it's full of history that I was utterly unprepared for. The place is so quiet and feels different from the outside world. I felt extremely emotional just imagining what happened there. A must-see, even if your history knowledge is as rusty as mine. (Apologies to all the history buffs; I’m trying).
3:00 PM - Back to the Hotel, Sock-Lost: Arrived back with a slight headache and a determination to find those chai. Opened the luggage to discover… one missing sock. Where did it go? Had it been stolen by mischievous hotel gremlins? The mystery will haunt me for years.
4:00 PM - Relax & Recuperate: Took a shower. Water still temperamental. Decided to embrace the chaos and ordered room service, which was actually decent. Was still recovering from last night, so I decided to get some sleep.
Day 3: Departure & The Unfinished Chai Quest
9:00 AM - Final Breakfast at Flavors: Looked like the breakfast was the same as the day before, but the taste changed. The dosa was a bit better than before. My stomach growled.
10:00 AM - Packing & Reflecting: Packed. Found another missing sock. Gave up on the chai quest. Realized I’d spent three days in Pune, and I still hadn't quite figured it out. I didn't like that the stay must end here. Time to go.
11:00 AM - Check Out & Auto-Rickshaw Farewell: Checked out. The staff were lovely. Another hair-raising auto-rickshaw ride to the airport. This time, I was prepared. Mentally, at least.
Overall "Review" (Because That's What We Do Now):
The Spree Shivai Hotel? It's… a hotel. It's not the Four Seasons, but it’s not terrible. It’s clean, the staff are friendly, and the AC works. The city? Pune is a sensory overload, a beautiful, chaotic mess. I was slightly overwhelmed, constantly lost, and perpetually in search of a perfect chai, but honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way. It was an experience. And sometimes, that's all you really need, a messy, imperfect, and utterly human experience.
Would I come back? Maybe. But next time, I'm bringing a whole suitcase full of socks. And maybe, just maybe, I'll finally find that perfect chai.
